High-Level Event | SUN, 12 NOV at 10am Eastern / 4pm Central European Streaming from Bonn, Germany during COP23
Learn how data innovation can help generate climate solutions and spur collective action.
This high-level event, featuring speakers from the United Nations, Western Digital, Twitter, Tableau, World Resources Institute and more, will kick off the Sustainable Innovation Forum during COP23 with discussions and examples of data-driven innovations to accelerate climate solutions and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The objective of the event is to foster collaboration between governments, innovators, data scientists and climate experts by providing a forum to share cutting-edge ideas, inspire collective action, and explore concrete ways to replicate and scale data innovations for SDG 13: Climate Action.
The event will feature the winners of the Data for Climate Action Challenge, an unprecedented open data innovation competition to leverage big data and analytics for social good. The Challenge was launched earlier this year by UN Global Pulse and Western Digital, calling on innovators, scientists and climate experts to harnesses the power of big data and data science to catalyze action on climate change. The Challenge connected 97 semi-finalist research teams with donated datasets from 11 companies. Results of the winning proposals will be showcased throughout the program.
