Now Live Streaming: Video Gamers Around the World
Chase is the Director of PR for Twitch, where he oversees all of the live streaming platform’s domestic and international media relations.
As a loyal attendee to the same major gaming conference for 18 years, Chase has seen its evolution year after year. The biggest change? Content creators have finally been validated. Game brands are now partnering with droves of content creators who use live streaming to grow bigger, more engaged gaming communities. Whether for gaming conferences, live events, or other activations, teaming up with these influencers provides a new voice for companies to talk “with” instead of “at” their audience.
And gamers are bringing their money with them. As Chase points out, content creators in the gaming industry can make a living off their work. Popular gamers who use live streaming can make money directly1 through opportunities such as revenue sharing from advertisers, viewer-based subscriptions, as well as partner, affiliate and influencer programs. Chase’s company is also making use of a major e-commerce platform for trial subscriptions to some of the biggest gamers’ channels.
